MCA Underwriting Automation Checklist: What to Automate and What to Review

A practical MCA underwriting automation checklist covering package validation, bank statement parsing, risk flags, lender matching, and human review.

Automate package validation and statement math

Software should verify required files, identify missing pages, organize statement periods, and calculate deposits, balances, NSFs, negative days, and other repeat metrics. Those tasks should produce the same structured output on every file.

Flag what deserves a second look

Existing positions, inconsistent business information, unusual transfers, sharp revenue changes, possible altered documents, and unsupported claims should be visible early. A flag is a prompt for review, not an automatic decline.

Keep judgment and exceptions with the team

Industry context, seasonality, merchant explanations, lender relationships, changing appetite, and deal structure do not fit neatly into one score. The strongest workflow gives underwriters cleaner evidence and a faster route to the decision they still own.
